Documentalist
The successful candidate will provide information services, in the form of a daily press bulletin, intranet-based publications and tailored responses to specific individual requests, based on external resources, so as to make available bankwide useful and necessary information for their activity and contribute so to the realisation of the objectives of the EIB.
The incumbent of the post will report to the Head of the Documentation Unit and will be responsible for the PressWatch and “Questions-Réponses” service. S/he will supervise the work of a small team of assistants.
Responsibilities: • End-to-end responsibility for coordinating and executing key documentation processes and techniques for the edition and publication of press bulletins (e.g. EIB Group dans la presse) and information announcements (e.g. FlashInfo) on or related to EIB Group activities, ensuring the accuracy of content and timely publication. This includes: - collect, handle and process information document flows from diverse information sources either on electronic or paper format; - analyse content, identify, select and list most relevant information according to set criteria; - publish edited information to readers on electronic supports (e.g. intranet). • Organise and supervise on-demand documentation search services and conduct specific information researches on various topics to provide either conceptual or factual information (documents, part of documents or data) to information requestors in order to meet their information needs in a timely and cost effectively manner and with qualitative information. • Supervise the publication of information announcements and bulletins on the Documentation Unit’s intranet. • Contribute (in close collaboration with the Head of Unit) to the development of a policy for the provision of information services in the areas of press monitoring and documentation researches on or in support of EIB activities. • Provide guidance to documentation assistants in the execution of the documentation processes, ensuring the quality and the correctness of information/data provided. • Plan the work to be performed and ensure continuity of service.
Qualifications: • University degree or postgraduate qualification in Information Management. • Minimum of 5 years’ relevant professional experience in Information Management preferably in a corporate or banking information service. • Advanced information retrieval skills in the domains of press monitoring, sector and market analysis, company intelligence, financial data, statistics, economics. • Experienced user of press tracking services (e.g. Factiva and Lexis-Nexis). • Experienced user of database services (e.g. Dialog, Bureau van Dijk, Dun & Bradstreet). • Experience in the use of intranet technologies for service delivery. • Fluent English or French with sound knowledge of the other. Knowledge of other EU languages would be an advantage.
