Beyond The Pale At NLI
Mairead McGuinness MEP recently launched 'Beyond the Pale,' an exhibition of photographs which focuses on Irish cities outside the Pale – specifically Waterford, Cork, Galway, Kilkenny, Limerick, Derry and Belfast – during the period 1880 to 1915.

Theresa Villiers (Chipping Barnet, Conservative) asked the Secretary of State for Transport what her policy is on shredding in her Department and its agencies.

British Library Copyright Questionnaire

The British Library is concerned that the shift from print to digital publishing is undermining the traditional balance at the heart of copyright and could make it harder for researchers to access and use information, and undermine innovation, research and heritage in the UK.

The Library made a significant contribution to the Gowers Review of Intellectual Property, and is a member of the High Level Copyright Group of the European Commission's i2010 Digital Libraries programme.

Now the BL wants to hear the views of users. The results and feedback from the British Library’s Copyright Questionnaire will be incorporated into the response to the UK Intellectual Property Office's 'digital exceptions' consultation. Note: The questionnaire is open to UK residents only.

Michael Weir (Angus, Scottish National Party) asked the Secretary of State for Wales (UK Parliament) whether confidential or personal information has been compromised through the loss of property from his Department since 1997.
Music Copyright Exceptions Consultation
According to a letter sent to interested parties, the UK Government is proposing to begin a new consultation process in respect of certain copyright exceptions, in particular ones relating to music licensing.

US Companies Handling UK Citzens Govt Held Data: UK Parliamentary Question
Adam Price (Carmarthen East & Dinefwr, Plaid Cymru) asked the Chancellor of the Exchequer whether (a) companies based in the United States and (b) UK subsidiaries of US companies have been contracted by his Department and its agencies to provide services involving the use, storage, processing or analysis of databases of personal information held by the Government on UK citizens in the last five years.
