New Service Addresses 'Chronic Waste of Research'
The Literati Club, set up by leading international online management publisher Emerald, to provide support and services for editors and authors, has launched a new service to help writers find the right editing skills.
The service is aimed primarily at authors whose first language is not English, but who are attempting to get published in English. The Literati Editing Service recommends copy editors, all themselves experienced authors, offering expertise in business and management, scientific and technical fields.
The site also advises on fee rates, as set out in the recent guidelines (2002) published by the UK Society of Freelance Editors and Proofreaders.
According to John Peters, Director, Emerald, "It is a chronic waste of research, if papers fail to get the consideration they deserve because of poorly written English. We hope the new service will level the playing field for all authors, and ultimately deliver a wider range of valuable research to the community."
